I heard you guys like emissions. My car has lots. The EPA hasn’t came through my window yet, but I did technically pay them off...

What is this echeck? There are no emissions or safety checks where I live.

South Dakota. This is diesel country, dieselgate only got VW owners respect from truck owners

The one that fails when the previous owner removes the EGR valve.

Why s diesel popular there specifically? Lots of rural hauling? Or just truck country?

Farm use. I’m near rapid city and we get lots of folks who drive into town on Friday nights from their farms and outlying towns and do their shopping over the weekend abd go home on Sundays. The only cities with the amenities Rapid City has (walmarts, car part stores, farm supply, drug stores, etc) is Denver (8 hours) or Sioux Falls (5 hours). But these people are already driving 5 hours to get to Rapid City.

We learned to not go shopping on the weekends because it’s *that* crowded. The folks come out in diesel trucks or Suburbans, load them to the brim (and load hitch carriers and roof racks) and head home. The Indian Reservation (Pine Ridge) is very large and very poor (poorest county in America actually) and they get their government checks on the 10th of the month so thousands will be in the city the following weekend.

It’s crazy to see the difference in the city from a quiet Thursday to busy Saturdays, especially in the winter time when they start stocking up since there’s no guarantee the weather will let them come back the following weekend
